Over the last few years I’ve developed a love for classic, pointed toe stilettos. In particular, I’ve fallen in love with the Bethany pump from Diane Von Furstenburg. It started with a random impulse purchase of a beautiful mint green pair (seen here) and now, several pairs later, I still can’t get enough. While DVF still produces the Bethany, getting a hold of certain colors in a size 9 is not always easy on the retail circuit. Buying new is not always an option for my budget and it is one of the reasons why the fashion industry creates so much waste. Over the past few years I’ve developed a very strange affinity for elephants. I ‘m not really sure where it came from, I’ve always wanted to go on vacation and spend time at an elephant rescue but this has progressed beyond that. I gawk at them at the zoo, watch hilarious YouTube videos (this will make your day) and acquiring more and more clothing items with the long-nosed giants. My sister recently surprised me with this amazing pair of sneakers from Bucketfeet, with what else, elephants! The perfect finish for a casual Friday outfit to survive in the sticky DC summer heat.
