Over the past few years I’ve developed a very strange affinity for elephants. I ‘m not really sure where it came from, I’ve always wanted to go on vacation and spend time at an elephant rescue but this has progressed beyond that. I gawk at them at the zoo, watch hilarious YouTube videos (this will make your day) and acquiring more and more clothing items with the long-nosed giants. My sister recently surprised me with this amazing pair of sneakers from Bucketfeet, with what else, elephants! The perfect finish for a casual Friday outfit to survive in the sticky DC summer heat.
I know what you’re thinking, sneakers, at the office? What kind of ridiculous work wear style blog is this? As I noted here, my office leans more business casual and while we are in the legal profession, my office has some leeway and I take advantage sometimes. As a personal preference I also prefer to wear sneakers over sandals to work; anything beyond a peep toe is too much feet porn in cubicle land.
To this simple tank dress I added a crisp linen blazer for structure. I paired it with an elephant necklace to tie in with my elephant sneakers. A cool note about the brand Bucketfeet. Bucketfeet takes submissions from artists around the globe and turns them into shoes I love the collaboration and the fact that their artist base is truly global. These shoes are insanely comfortable and also have a antimicrobial lining; clearly I’m going to have to get a pair of slip-ons in addition to these lace-ups.
